ABOUT US

This is BuffsBlog.com.

So what is this place?  It’s a somewhat comprehensive Colorado sports blog that promises to cover football and basketball and all other Colorado sports in various level of details with an emphasis on analytics, analysis and general jackassery.  We’ll leave newsbreaking to other sites – this is the site you may want to bookmark to see how to think about the latest news.

The founder, John Gaddis, is a former corporate attorney and former pastor that has suffered through CU sports fandom for a long time and whose grandparents, for better or worse, started the family’s love affair with the Buffs in the 1960s with season tickets in Section 104 of Folsom.  Those tickets have stayed in the family since then, although the tickets moved over to Section 106 during the Deion Sanders Prime Time era.  Sorry Big Jim!

John attended undergraduate school at CU in the mid to late 1990s, and still believe Rick Neuheisel is underrated as a CU football coach.  He attended law school at the University of Michigan and is therefore a sports bigamist with allegiances to both fine universities.  As a Michigan fan, he’s been fortunate to have an online blog resource like MGoBlog.com.  John is a huge fan of Brian Cook and Seth Fischer and the work they’ve done at MGoBlog.com, and this website aspires to become as trusted in the Colorado ecosphere as MGoBlog.com is in the Michigan ecosphere.  Other inspiration comes from FireJoeMorgan.com, old Bill Simmons mailbags, and the teachings of Paul Flanders.

Contributors to BuffsBlog.com create the Wack Pack of CU sports fandom.  Leading the charge is Chris Gaddis, brother emeritus and double CU grad (undergrad and law school).  Chris is CEO of a leading local corporation.

So pull up a stiff drink and read along with us.  We can’t promise glory, but we can promise that we’ll never, ever say anything nice about the Corndogs.
